The "Aid Tibet"
Project, which was designed by the Chinese Government soon
after Tibet's peaceful liberation 50 years ago, has already
benefited the Southwest Chinese autonomous region during the
past half century.
The Tibet Aid-Receiving
Office said that during the past 50 years, the Central
Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has convened
four working conferences specially on Tibet, in a bid to
seek and design better measures for Tibet's fast
development.
Since 1995, the CPC Central
Committee also designates 15 provinces and municipalities to
forge long-term aid relationship with Tibet.
So far, 62 aiding projects donated by the
Central Government and the aiding provinces have been
completed with an investment of 860 million yuan.
During the 4th Tibet Working Conference in
2001, the CPC Central Committee also designs 117
construction projects and 71 aiding projects for Tibet.
