Dear Sirs,
    Year 2002 Tianjin International Children's Culture & Art Festival which is jointly sponsored by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Tianjin People's Municipal Government will be held in Tianjin in July and August, 2002. As one of the main contents of the Art Festival, the 2002 First Tianjin World Children's Painting Competition and Exhibition will be held by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee sincerely invites the children of your country to participate in the Competition and the Exhibition and to show a whole new world in their eyes.
    The Organizing Committee will set up Gold Prize, Silver Prize and Bronze Prize. The honorary certificate of the 2002 First Tianjin World Children's Painting Exhibition will be awarded to all the children who send the paintings, and the excellent paintings will be chosen to participate in the 2002 First Tianjin World Children's Painting Exhibition. The painters of the excellent paintings will be awarded a good-sized album (The 2002 First World Children's Paintings Omnibus).
    The Painters of the super-outstanding paintings will be invited to attend the Children's Painting Prize Award Ceremony of the Competition and the Year 2002 Tianjin International Art Festival. The participants will bear their own fee.
Requirement of paintings and the rules of exhibition:
Subject:   1. Peace, friendship, future
         2. The participants can choose any theme they like, for instance, love, happiness, daily activities, family lives, traditional customs, environment, endangered animals, human beings and nature. (be full of native characteristics and imagination, and reflect native conditions and customs)
Measure: between 20x30 and 50x70cm
Age of painter: 3---18 years old
Type: crayon drawing, watercolor painting, oil painting, cartoon drawing, children's painting etc.
Requirement: don't mount the pictures and send 30 paintings at most. The Organizing Committee has the privilege to use the paintings of this Competition as other effective ways, such as to strengthen the connection among the children and the youth of different countries, to participate in different kinds of Painting Competitions at home and overseas, etc.

Expiry date of the collection is April 30th, 2002.
